VEGAS SHOWS

For many years, Las Vegas has been home to the world's best and most famous shows. There has for many years been quite a rivalry for each show to be considered the best. Vegas shows deliver the goods. They attract the most skilled, entertaining, and famous artists, and spare no expense to make the shows extravagant, polished, awe-inspiring, and deeply satisfying and thrilling.
Below: The live Vegas shows have been extravagant right from the beginning. The earlier shows were large dance acts with mostly female dancers clad in skimpy yet over-the-top exotic costumes, and the modern version of this still thrives famously. But other acts are now equally famous and popular, acts with animals, circus, magic, dance, song, comedy, and whatever else they think may awe and entertain the visitors. And if you're not into the shows because you want to move around a little yourself, the night life is quite a party in town.

Vegas Shows

There are various kinds of shows available in Las Vegas and each has its own appeal to certain audiences. I will mention some of the more famous and longest-running shows in Vegas, without a particular category in mind.

CIRQUE DU SOLEIL
They are such big hits that soon there will be six Cirque du Soleil shows in production. Their first show "Mystere" has been a favorite. "O" was also considered an outstanding Las Vegas show.

BLUE MAN GROUP
This is a "must- see" show when you are in Vegas. This internationally acclaimed and certified hit show is played at the Venetian.

MAMMA MIA
This is a musical that makes use of 22 ABBA songs to tell a story. This opened in 2003 and has been very well received.

FOLIES BERGERE and JUBILEE
These two are among the longest-running shows in Vegas. The Folies has been staged at the Tropicana Resort since 1959, while the Jubilee can be seen at Bally's. In these shows, you will find classic Show Girls strut their stuff onstage. That includes shiny rhinestones and all things loud and lavish in their productions.

These are just a noteworthy few of the many shows that have made their mark in Las Vegas. To add to the list, there's "Le Reve", "Phantom", "The Producers", "Stomp Out Loud", "Price Is Right", and "Mac King Comedy Show". Performers such as Celine Dion, Bette Midler, Elton John, Barry Manilow, Danny Gans, and Penn and Teller were among the people who made hit shows in Vegas. Wayne Newton was a standby favorite and a must-see for many many years, matched only in fame perhaps by Seigfried and Roy's wild animal circus act.
